Kresge's on the corner of N Union and Laurens. Building was razed in 1975 to make room for a new development. Kresge's was part of K-Mart, which after moving off of N Union Street occupied a plaza just west of Allegany

L'Alcove restaurant-corner of N Union and Wayne St.-1973-Originally this was a multistory Market Basket grocery store that was reduced to a single story-This building was eventually demolished to make way for a Tim Hortons

Formerly part of Luther Manufacturing this building sat abandon for several years before it was leveled in 1972-Eventually this spot became part of the parking lot for the Olean Center Mall. What you see in the foreground is part of the canopy for the former Pennsylvania RR station along North Union Street

Bordonaro Brothers building along North Union Street in 1972. It was razed as part of Urban Renewal in the summer of 1972. The Olean Center Mall parking lot presently occupies this space.

First National Bank Drive Through Built in 1963

Standard Electronics (formerly Chiavetta's Hardward), Whelan Wholesale, Crosby Cold Storage and Armour Meat buildings along N Union St– All torn down in 1972 and now part of the parking lot for the Olean Center Mall

Grants City-Town of Allegany (now the location of Wal-Mart)-Opened in 1971 and closed in 1976 due to the chain filing for bankruptcy. Bradners would move to this building (from their old location on North Union St) and occupy the building until the early 80's. The building then became part of Zayre and then Ames. The building was razed so that a new Wal-Mart could be built in 1995

Central Hotel-North Union St

WT Grants-Closed in 1976 due to the bankruptcy of the chain– Later occupied by Ben Franklin

A E Ewing Co.-Formerly Miller Hardward-135-137-139 N Union-Closed in 1953 and the building razed-A one story W T Grant store was built in its place

Jay Furniture 301-303--305 N Union-Opened in the 1930's and closed in 1955-Became the home to OBI in 1961

Lang's Hardware 239-241 N Union-Closed 1959-Later became a storefront for Olean Household and then Bradner's Galleries
